The Romans traveled to Hamilton H.S. for a double dual meet with Venice and Hamilton.  The Romans won all four divisions - Boys and Girls, F/S and Varsity, against both schools.  The meet scoring against Venice was closest at the varsity boys level.  The Romans, however, prevailed due to their strength in the field events and the hurdles.

The meet was a disappointment in one sense, though, because we were not able to contest the 4x100, 200, or 300 hurdles.  This was because the Hamilton track was not properly lined, making lane races impossible.  In fact, if it was not for the efforts of the Roman coaches, who lined the straightaway themselves, the 100 and 110 hurdles would have been cancelled also.

The best race of the day was the 4x400 relay.  Trevore Archie made up a big a 40 yard distance on Nick Lennon of Venice, pulling even at the 300 mark.  Nick, however, was strong enough in the finish to just barely hold Archie off.  It was an exciting finish to an otherwise frustrating meet because of its poor organization.
